Hybrid Engine

I'm happy to hear that Ford might put a hybrid engine in the Fusion in 07/08. The Prius gets 72 mpg city (CDN values), so I'm thinking the Fusion could get around 60 mpg in the city. Now that's a better way to reduce our dependance on OPEC!

What do you guys think about a hybrid version of the Fusion? I say bring it on!

Excellent idea. Direct competiton is the Accord and soon Camry hybrids.

Ford has to build up the infastructure for servicing and selling hybrids here up north because I heard the training of the technicians comes out of the dealers pocket. They have to justify the market IOT create. That is the catch-22.

There has to be a huge outpouring from the public for these vehicles. I would put money down (tax credit would be nice too).

Another thing: Get the diesel fuel problem solved (sulfur I think) so we can get some Duratourq diesel options here as well.
